Hi Guys
First time poster, long time reader.
Just have a question about downlights and risk of fire etc. We've been in our house for about 2 years now, and we have about 50 downlights, all 12v halogen, 50 watts. The house is approximatley 9 years old, and was built by an owner builder, who I understand was also a qualified electrician. I recently went up in the room, to have a bit of a look, and noticed that the insulation in the room is loose fill, and the each downlight has a cardboard box to protect it from the insulation.

Just wondering whether my current downlight situation poses a fire risk, and whether I should get proper downlight covers for it (which I think will cost a lot with 50 downlights and labour)? I think the situation is ok, and that i'm just overworrying. I mean its been 9 years, so far so good.
Thanks
