Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jul 26, 2010 2:39 pm Hi, I'm thinking of getting some simple batten fix lights that have an alabaster glass 'shade' (eg http://www.onlinelighting.com.au/produc ... ts_id=8404 ) and I'm wondering whether the alabaster glass is going to mean I either have less light filtering through, or that I'm going to need a higher wattage globe. Has anyone got anything similar, and how do you find the light source? Re: Lights with Alabaster Glass 2Jul 27, 2010 10:47 am Hi Sweetime I have exactly the same light in my hallway and entry and am very happy with the light output. Like most baten-fix lights they are only rated to 60Wmax incandescent lamp. I tried some compact fluoro lamps in them as well but they were physically larger and protruded out the bottom of the shade - but it still looked OK to me and gave a good light output. Whether it is enough light for you will depend on the size of the room. Cheers legit in every lighting shop and even bunnings.
