And Fluorescents are too much trouble trying to dim, esp with the products in the aussie market, much easier in the states. Looking for an affordable option...any suggestions? So far I have come across the megaman & Phillips tornado. Really like the tornado, but are there the dimmable bulbs available? Re: Looking for dimmable CFLs or LEDs 4Jul 11, 2010 10:53 pm I would imagine that most LEDs are dimmable. There are plenty of dimmable CFLs available (Megaman 11W GU10, Phillips tornado, etc.) Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Looking for dimmable CFLs or LEDs 5Jul 12, 2010 1:04 pm Casa2 There are plenty of dimmable CFLs available (Megaman 11W GU10, Phillips tornado, etc.) These two are the only dimmable CFLs I have come across. Which other dimmable CFLs are available? Can CFLs be placed horizontally? Re: Looking for dimmable CFLs or LEDs 6Jul 12, 2010 7:40 pm Not only can CFLs be placed horizontally, butit's better for them. CFLs contain electronics at the "top" which if placed vertically results in the most heat. Putting them horizontally reduced the head load (for those that emit light in all directions). Fittings like the Jupiter range are side mount for CFLs. Was just having a squizz at Bunnings this afternoon and noticed that they stock both the dimmable Tornados ($15) and also dimmable Nelson CFLs ($10). I think they had the dimmable Megaman GU10 CFLs as well but they were a lot more expensive (~$40 IIRC). For the sake of an extra couple of centimetres of ceiling cut-out, it seems as though the ES CFLs are a much more economical way to have energy efficient downlights than GU10s. Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6895 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 |
