Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jun 27, 2010 10:11 pm I'm searching for some shops that sell lampshades for a standard lamp base Apart from the obvious 'lighting' stores, can you help me find any other stores in the Melbourne area. I'm after something fairly plain but they are either too small or too big I know there's gotta be some maybe smaller shops out there with a good variety here's hoping Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: BIG Lamp shades for standard lamp - Melbourne? 3Jun 28, 2010 8:05 am grom40 Probably not the "boutique" store u were looking for but have u tried ikea? I was there on friday & they had a good range. Nope, not looking for boutique, just a fairly plain contemporary shade but the ones I've found are too 'Victorian' in shape or either contemporary but too small or colours aren't what I'm looking for ..... appreciate your feedback, I'll go check out Ikea when I'm over that way Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: BIG Lamp shades for standard lamp - Melbourne? 5Jun 28, 2010 11:46 am A lot of pendant shades are suitable for lamps as well - they have a moveable thingie in them that allows them to either hang from a flex or sit on a base, depending which way you turn it. That makes no sense at all.... Anyway, don't limit yourself to lamp shades when looking. It's worth checking out pendant fittings as well.
