Here is the old kitchen which is similar layout to the new one Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The current light fitting is an old ugly fluorescent tube. Now I wanted to put in a nice 4 spotlight fitting in like this But my electrician says that I cannot install one of these as it will create a lot of shadows in the room and when I'm standing at the bench I wont be able to see anything at night. Is this right? If so what do you suggent i put in? I dont want an oyster fitting or anything light that/ Thanks Scott Re: Light for separate kitchen 2May 19, 2010 1:47 pm I had a similiar light in my last kitchen-the only issue I had was when I was working at the bench where the stove was-because the overheads blocked the light. Directly above the cooktop was the rangehood light-it was the benches either side-but that will happen no matter what light it is....what about a couple of undercupboard lights as well? P1590.aspx if you can find a fitting that takes 12v lamps then you could use 60 degree lamps which would give you a less focused light and intern less harsh shadows. hope this helps.
