I currently have a single ugly light fixture in my bedroom that I am going to replace before we paint the apartment. Right now the lounge and dining room have these lights from Telbix (http://www.onlinelighting.com.au/produc ... cts_id=493). The light they produce are very warm (3000 K) and according to Beacon Lighting they cant take globes with cooler light colour. My bedroom only receives early morning light and is otherwise dim for the rest of the day, especially during winter. Do you think I would be better off finding another light fixture that can a cooler temperature light globe? Regards Re: Light temperature colour 2Apr 04, 2010 9:22 pm I don't believe much in the advice from Beacon they are them ones that told me you can't buy dimmerable fluro's or soild rods for pendant lights. I don't know the answer to your problem but maybe an email to telbix will be able to give you the correct answer. But, I suspect it is the brightness level, rather than the colour temperature, that will cause problems in the situation you describe. Maybe those lights can safely take a higher wattage R7s tube - with maybe a dimmer if necessary? This is like all incandescent lights which only come in warm white. To get cool white you need to move to a fluorescent equivalent. Re: Light temperature colour 10Apr 06, 2010 10:59 am Robbo - is it just me or are they incredibly warm in colour? They turn the whole room a red/orange no matter what the paint color. I think I just have to accept it and find a different light fitting. Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17324 It might be a bit darker in the mornings but the light is still light, so you should be getting it.
