I'm wanting to place a DIY sensor light at the front of my house which is an old worker's cottage from the '20s. A batten socket is fitted by the door on the front verandah, but the socket protrudes several inches out from the wall and downwards, meaning I can't place a light flush against the wall to plug into the socket. I probably need a photo to better articulate the fitting, but if anybody has come across this problem, could you let me know if there's a DIY solution or does it sound like a job for a sparkie?
