Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Nov 23, 2009 3:02 pm This might seem obvious to others but I can't seem to get it When you are looking at pendant lights online and they say the 'height is 220cm' - does that mean from the tip of the lightshade to the fix in the roof, or does it mean height off the ground? 220cm height seems really long, is that too long for pendant lights over a kitchen island bench with 8.5ft ceilings? Draw it up on a piece of paper, cut it out and hold it up where you want to put it. As mentioned above, the actual 'wire' can be pulled through the roof to the height yo want. Re: Pendant light height question.... 4Nov 29, 2009 1:35 pm i 2nd that, the cable will definitely be able to be adjusted. you will probably have to cut it as it looks like quite a small ceiling plate, so make sure of the height you want. i'd recommended the bottom of the pendant hangs at 1.7 - 1.9m above floor level.
