Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Sep 17, 2009 10:49 pm Hi all. After some lighting advice. We will be having raked ceilings in the upstairs of our house. The slope of the ceiling is not huge...ranges from 5-11 degrees (we have 3 separate roofs each with a slightly different slope ) In the living areas, we'll be having pendants mostly and a few down lights (most probably, although I'm reluctant). The problem areas are the bathrooms, laundry, minor bedrooms (although we may go pendants here too) and WIR. Do you think oyster lights will look OK? Any other suggestions for lighting in these areas? Better still any pictures of raked ceilings and lights? BTW, the house is fairly 'minimalistic', so trying to keep an 'clean' look. I can't see why they wouldn't look ok in the raked ceilings. Hardest part might be installing them Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Don't worry about the installation, that's what husbands are for . But the ceilings aren't that high really (except the entrance, which is almost 6m...DH will definitely be changing those globes) I've been googling images all night but can't find any piccies, but I hope you're right. I think it should look OK. I've seen a couple of pictures of oysters on raked ceilings now, so I'm pretty happy it should look OK. Now we have to decide how to arrange the light, skylight and fan in the bathroom so that it looks balanced . Can't have a fan and light in one as there's not enough roof space apparently .
