Mmmm, I fell in love with those lamps as soon as I aw them - didn't really NEED them but had to have them (At least they didn't cost $900 each ) MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! I love the Mara too - I saw it in Beacon first and then on your thread, and thought how lovely it was, but back then I was having a blue themed family room and kitchen. Then I got all muddled about my colour choices which I resolved by going green instead of blue - once THAT was decided I rushed in and ordered a Mara immediately, it all seemed to work together perfectly - not to mention the bonus that it was on sale !! Seeing the "lifestyle photos" of the Linden on the Beacon site helped me decide my colour scheme in the formal rooms - I love silver!!! Your home is lovely, BTW, and I think your kid's green feature wall is totally cool ! (Update: Lights I actually bought) 44Nov 12, 2009 8:46 pm I have fallen in love with a light for my stairwell now (fickle creature, aren't I ?) It's a chandelier and is new to Beacon Lighting and features in their current catalogue - the Isabelle (hope this pic comes out...) http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad351/MagicJ71/9.jpg It's the black one I like (white is gorgeous too, but would not go with our house as well) - bit more expensive than I was hoping to pay, but sooooooooooo nice. Re: My heart was broken! (Update: Lights I actually bought) 47Nov 17, 2009 1:49 pm I love them all! We have the Mara pendant in our retreat....not the patterned one though, just the cream linen. Makes it a very cosy corner. Men are hopeless when it comes to decorating. I'm sure if mine was left to his own devices, he'd just have bare bulbs in the ceiling and an old bean bag to sit on and think that was fine. Of course he'd have a stupidly expensive TV, stereo, computer system and every other gadget you can think of. Re: My heart was broken! Sometimes I think I am half male, the bare bulbs aren't bothering me but after years of renting with only barebulbs I'm kinda used to them! Light shades are a very low priority for me though, a new table and chairs is way ahead on the priority list! 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' What! you're good One of the few good habits I acquired while living in Melbourne - my deadline for Christmas shopping is always November 30, because I cannot stand the crowded shops in December (particularly Southland in Melbourne ). I think I might be mildly claustrophobic, because just the thought of all those people and cars makes me break out in a cold sweat .
