I've just discovered that there are two voltage types of down lights! I had no idea So what's the main difference? Is one better than the other? One more cost effective/energy efficient? What does everyone recommend? I'll be having most inside (some in bathrooms and a few outdoors under the alfresco, front porch and garage/balcony eaves). They use a transformer which can get very hot and don't be fooled by thinking 12v uses less power than 240v. 240v all the way. Then you can even use CFL bulbs in it if you like. I am going with this option as my partner tends to read in bed soem nights.. and a bright all room light or a ebd side lamp arn't good enough....
