Re: what's a PLC light? 4Jun 07, 2009 5:59 pm Hmm - It's new technology they are promoting and if it gets legs and takes off ie lots of installation - yes - if not - no. Personally - what the reasons your considering it? Other than the sparky promoting it. Re: what's a PLC light? 5Jun 08, 2009 1:00 am hi there Only considering it as some of the downlight's that I've seen on the net use PLC lamps. Basically I was looking for a CFL downlight with a highish wattage as we're going to have quite high seilings and I was worried that they might not be bright enough. I saw some downlights that take PLC lamps that have two globes in them. We don't need them for another 6 months or so, so I guess I should watch and wait for now? about to build our first home! Re: what's a PLC light? 6Jun 08, 2009 8:57 am The PLC lamps are better, but you need to have the right light fitting. The benefit is that the ballast is part of the light fitting, so it's not replaced. The lamps should be cheaper.
