Hi all,
I was after a downlight guide that shows the differences and advantages/disadvantages of downlights.
We tend to install 45 downlights in our yet-to-be-built home and have no idea where to start.
Cheers

Take your plans along with you. We found Beacon at Belrose (NSW) to be very helpful. Do they have places like that in Melb? Life's too short too drink bad wine Re: Online guide for downlights ? 4May 22, 2009 2:30 pm Hammerhead We found Beacon at Belrose (NSW) to be very helpful. Do they have places like that in Melb? Yep. Given the OP's location, I'd recommend going to the one in Heidelberg. I spent a bit of time talking with a lady there about 240V Halogen and CFL's and got some great advice. When I'm ready to buy what I need, I'll be going back to speak to the same person. Re: Online guide for downlights ? 5May 22, 2009 3:43 pm Thanks guys. I went to Beacon lighting on Monday and had a chat with one of the ladies there. There seems to be different adapters for different downlights (the 240v). The problem with downlights is that they keep changing in size and adapters, so I think we'll go with the downlights that come with compact screw CFL globes. They come in 13watts and slightly larger than the halogen downlights in size. We decided to go with the defuser ones, but not sure what colour we need .. something to think about ... P.S Beacon lighting have this special promotion of buying one and get the second one for 30% less. It'll be a lot of saving for 50 downlights. |
