It has replaced the bedside tables and I love it! The light switch to the right (under the wedding pic) is the main one for the room and the one on either side of the bed controls both lights in the cutout above the bed. matt thank you for the pics, your room looks lovely. What you have is what we were thinking of doing. It helps see a photo of how they might look like. You mention it would be better if they were lower, what is the exact height you would suggest to have them at? Also how did you get them wired up? Our builder will only supply standard switches, can they simply be replaced with the ones you have. As for reading can't say how many times a week I read Re: Bed lights switch location 23Apr 12, 2009 10:52 pm I read as often as I can The switches are in at standard height (1100mm) I think. I would have had them down around the 900-950mm mark and closer into the bedhead. It was hard to comprehend how it was going to work without having the pics (like this) to work it out. They are wired up so either can turn them both on or off. They come on together. It makes it easier for either of us to turn the lights off. We toyed with wireless switches etc but this turned out to be the cheapest and best option for us! Re: Bed lights switch location 25Apr 21, 2009 7:23 pm how come no-one mentioned remote control dimmers! HPM do a standard wall mount dimmer with a touch plate and a remote control. I've used them in every master bedroom for friends, family and anyone else. The only issue is, some of them hum. http://www.ilcaustralia.org/images/NSW/8162011.jpg Licenced Sparky and Data Cabler If "The Data Guys" is too long to type, TDG will do. Re: Bed lights switch location 26Apr 21, 2009 8:34 pm TDG, We recently had one installed in the theatre room at work and after just 3 weeks it gave up. I am told (and I see a fair amount of electricians in my shop) that these are not the best solution. That said though I do like them when they work Any electricians here please help. 1) Will the Fan need separate switch to ON/OFF/Speed eventhough it comes with Remote 2) how about… 0 1142 |
