I have decided to add 10 downlights also as a minimum. We need to sit down with CSO and do our electrical plan, as we have not completed that part as yet. I think they have allowed 30 double power points so not sure this will be enough either, so will be adding extra, me thinks! I have been thinking about this thread for a while and wanted to share my thoughts about down lights and lighting. We went to the house yesterday and all the lighting has now been completed. It took the electrician around 5 days to do the final installation We are having many downlights and 2 feature pendants. It wasnt until we turned on the lights for the niches in our wall that the penny dropped...I had actually forgotten why the architect had designed a house with so many lights. The four niches looked stunning (many photos are coming on my blog this weekend) lit up I then realised that the lighting is the feature of our home along with the blackbutt flooring. Would you believe that because I have been so upset with everything to do with this house I had lost sight of all the good design that had gone into the planning 2 years before. Downlights is one way of allowing you to use lighting as a feature. It is this very reason why we have downlights. We also have the LED lights along the walls that are blue. It just looks so beautiful (IMHO ) and costs hardly anything to run. We had so much fun switching on all the different combinations of our lights yesterday. These are just my thoughts about why I like down lights. I also want to add that our lighting has not been designed to be turned on all at once. There are many different combinations we can choose from...pictures to come Mrs B Re: 68 p'points & 86 lights...oh just make it 100 each! ;) 45Mar 14, 2009 8:59 am Mrs B - sounds gorgeous. Hoping ours has the same effect.
We have a 410sqm house, with 84 lights - I have also counted them! Again, not all will be on at the same time, and the house should be nice and light and bright during the day - I hat having lights on inside when it is sunny outside. Not sure about the power points but am sure it would be similar to yours BuildingACT. Re: 68 p'points & 86 lights...oh just make it 100 each! ;) 46Mar 14, 2009 9:12 am iTalk Cons, 2. I'm in th eprocess fo finalising my lighting and I may get some ideas. Cheers, Casa Hi Casa, there are only a few on my blog at the moment but of course its at night time where you get the full effect. I should have a chance to take a few pics at night to show the feature lights we have, in particular the outside lights that highlight the architecture of the house gee that sounded so toffy nose but I dont know how else to put it Mrs B Not unless you have managed to put it as a special condition into the contract somehow. 1 6248 That sucks!
