Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Feb 16, 2009 11:54 am In my last two places, I have installed Crompton LFD style lights.
They are linkable as they either plug into each other or use a small extension cable. They come with all the hardware and just plug into a power point. I use them under cupboards to light up benches instead of downlights. They are a plug'n'play style but I actually wire them back to the light switch, or a switch on a power point. I have also wired them into the range hood so when you turn the light on the range, all these come on. I have also put them in walk in wardrobes under the shelf. If you want to hard wire them, get a sparky to do it! don't just think you can wire it in anywhere there's power! http://www.cromptonlighting.com/cat07/s ... &subcat=10 Licenced Sparky and Data Cabler If "The Data Guys" is too long to type, TDG will do. I have seen LED strip lights but were quite expensive and not producing as much light. The typical downlight but that requires a fair bit of work to make them look anygood. I like these as they come in different lengths (and wattage). I've also used them in bars. One customer wanted a wet bar in his boardroom. He actually just watches sport in there so it became a theatre for him. These lights worked well as they didn't light up the room but just the bar bench area.
