Hi lightning gurus out there. What we have at the moment is the preliminary electrical plan. What the builder have are so called 'low voltage recessed downlights' (I'm not sure if this is the 50 watts one). My wife loves them but I can live without them particulary due to electric cost in the future.
To compromise I'm thinking of putting some CFLs (the round design like the 'noosa' from Aus Lighting) in some rooms like family, meals and living. A separate switc will be provided. If with guests used the downlights otherwise CFLs. Has anyone tried this plan? Are they viable?
If ever install CFL what will be the configuration for the wattage. Will 32 watts of CFL will do for a 4 x 4 family room?
Or another option is to ask the builder if they can replace their downlights with energy efficient one like the GU 10 Recessed Downlights which I read from this forum. Do you think this will cost me more? Will they require a different fitting/plug from the regular one? How many watts if ever will I need for this kind light?
Thanks again.
