When we went looking for one a few years ago that's all we saw style wise. .We have one from our last house and it's looks the same. I thought one of these solar ones would be handy for this rental since the owners neglected to put in even a single power point outside. Re: Solar Light + bug zapper 4Dec 28, 2008 5:27 pm My next door neighbour had one, bigger than this one; I could hear it zap the bugs from my place! I think there great.
His was a bit dearer than what ebay are selling them for. Bunning’s should have some. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Solar Light + bug zapper 5Dec 28, 2008 8:31 pm Michelle was his a solar one?
Our one is a plug in and it is/was quite loud and was bigger than this one. It's currently packed away since the rental has no outdoor powerpoints. I was just saying this solar one looks like it's the same sort of style. ( kek was saying she hoped they came in different designer looks) I doubt one of these solar versions would be that powerful but perhaps I'm mistaken. Re: Solar Light + bug zapper 6Dec 28, 2008 8:39 pm What about some of these:
Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ These are not just great looking super bright Solar Lights, they also function as UV Insect Killers at the flick of a switch! No wiring required as they are powered and charged from natural daylight. When switched to UV Insect Killing mode, the Blue UV light attracts mosquitoes, fly's and other pests and electrocutes them instantly. The outer grid protects children and pets from any harm. The Blue bulbs still looks great down your garden path! When switched to White Light mode, they function just as Solar Lights and illuminate your garden beautifully. Great for placing around your tent when camping for a bug free night. Environmentally friendly - No chemicals needed. The only trouble with the solar ones would be getting enough light to charge them through the day, and that sometimes can be a problem, depending where the position is. I've never liked coach lights....although they can look good with the right style of house, mine definitely isn't it.
The mozzies around here are feral - I'm going to check those out! Re: Solar Light + bug zapper 10Dec 29, 2008 7:37 pm coach lights were all the rage in the 80's here in WA. When we were looking at exterior lights for our new house Dh immediately assumed I would fancy coach lights because I wanted them last time and he'd vetoed them. But this time i don't fancy them at all. I'm very much over them. Big moths have been known to catch on fire in bug zappers :p Re: Solar Light + bug zapper 13Jun 24, 2010 7:17 pm Do you guys with bug zappers have experience with them killing mozzies? I didn't think the light attracts them, only carbon dioxide. Where I grew up we had carbon dioxide emmitters on the bug lights to attract them. Other bugs no problems but not mozzies. Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this. PS was actually 2008 I built the… 2 11632 That was always going to be a challenge and a test of patience. Full marks to your mate. Did you discuss the wet area near the trampoline? 16 17287 It might be a bit darker in the mornings but the light is still light, so you should be getting it.
