Are downlights really the only effective option for drop ceilings? Does anyone have any "creative lighting concepts" for feature ceilings such as these? How about those fluro lights that go in to a recessed area around the dropped ceiling to give it a glow of light? Not sure if it would be bright enough to replace your down lights but might be good if you just need a bit of ambient lighting without the full force of the downlights.
