Casa2
Not sure if these have a light output of 350 lumens or 270 lumens.
350 for these... to be honest compared directly to a 50w halogen, a little colder in colour temp, but it's hard to tell the difference. Definitely an improvement on the ELU's.

R16_50.pdf Interesting the intensity is pretty high (950-1200cd) Re: LED downlights 85Oct 26, 2011 12:12 pm Yeah it's probably not ideal, the spacing on 2700 ceilings would be something like 1m, and 2400 would be about 850! Not so good for general lighting, but not bad for task lighting in the kitchen or something. Problem is trying to find a 60 degree LED with decent output at the same time (which was one of the problems with the ELUs, which are 60 degree). The only problem with the complete kits is, what do you do when one light breaks? you're probably better off going for something that fits a standard bulb size, otherwise you'll be stuck if that breaks and you can't buy another Re: LED downlights 91Oct 28, 2011 1:07 am What about these http://www.wattsaver.com.au/product.php?id=101&catID=48 ? Re: LED downlights 93Oct 28, 2011 9:07 am It has been some months now since any update, what is the suggestion for a new home, room lighting? Re: LED downlights 94Oct 28, 2011 2:09 pm rojak1 look not so convincing, 90lmns? 90 Lumens per watt. They are 12W, so they are claiming 1080 lumens, which is fairly typical. Paul Re: LED downlights 95Oct 28, 2011 2:13 pm MattyT That light looks good. The only problem with the complete kits is, what do you do when one light breaks? Well, maybe I am being optimistic, but a well engineered solid-state device shouldn't fail (at least not in the next few years). A $20 retro-fit GU10 or MR16 on the other hand.... The Brightgreen LEDs have a 5 year warranty. With the cheaper LEDs I guess you could do what we do in IT with low-end devices - buy some spares and put them in the cupboard. After 5 years there will probably be better lights anyway. Paul Re: LED downlights 96Oct 28, 2011 5:41 pm Hi All, The LED from electrical products that Eoh linked to arrived today. It isn't too bad. It has a similar size and appearance to a normal halogen downlight, except for the yellow LED chip. The dimmable driver (it claims dimmable down to 10% - I haven't tested it) is fitted with a two-pin 240V plug and a 2 pin plug on the low-voltage side. The lamp itself has a reasonable heatsink attached (with some sharp edges - I got a little cut from it). The light is a little cooler than the Brightgreen D900 and not quite as bright, but considering it is half the price, it isn't a bad trade-off. Update: One other thing I just noticed is that the box says 90 deg even though the web site states 60 deg, so that may account for the lower apparent brightness. If you are willing to forego an Australian warranty you can get them (non-dimmable version) for $30 minimum quantity 10 http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs/499174719-CE-SAA-approved-13w-LED-recessed-light-90mm-hole--wholesalers.html or similar and dimmable for $33 http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs/467321594-LED-Down-Light-LED-ceiling-light-dimmable-led-down-light-wholesalers.html Paul Re: LED downlights 97Nov 02, 2011 3:13 pm I have just fitted LED lights in my new home at far better prices than mentioned by yourself...they are assembled in Australia with Taiwanese or Japanese diodes, German engineered drivers and supplied with a 3 year warranty....let me know if I can help further Re: LED downlights 99Nov 06, 2011 12:55 pm AlibabaAU Hi, As it turns out, the vast majority of lighting these days is actually made in China. I work with a lot of suppliers and manufacturers in China through my job (at Alibaba.com and Aliexpress.com), and I believe you'd find some good quality LED downlights very cheap by doing some thorough research. My advice would be to keep searching online, and start to contact some of the suppliers on your short list. That way you can talk about their products and ask for specific details or order a sample so that you can determine the quality first hand and make sure it meets your standards. Doing this research will also help prevent you falling victim to scammers as you will fairly quickly determine the trustworthiness of your suppliers simply by getting to know them. Hope this helps! If you'd like to know anything else just let me know. Alex Alex I have to agree with you. I always thought China didnt have much in the way of quallity but I returned last night from 4 weeks in China. Some of the factorys I went to were far suppiror to what I have sean in Aust and Europe. I was amazed. Anyway I have with me some samples of dimmable and directional LED down lights from a company that has a 120,000 square meter factory that would have to be the cleanest factory I have sean EVER. I need someone to test these lights. The down side is they will only sell me 200 of each light but if these test ok I will buy them. I have sea containers leaving in about 4 weeks with other products so can put them in with my other building products. I need these lights to work with C-bus. This is one of the samples AC100-265V 7W 470-630LM 7pcs 1W High Power LED Ф105 X70 Ф92mm Can anyone recomend someone that can help test these on C-bus?? I have a small C-Bus rig that I have been using to test LEDs before selecting some for my house. Paul |
