Does this sound reasonable? 25Apr 23, 2010 2:16 am Our builder has offered us the following 'lighting package' for $3,300: - 30 x down lights with high efficient fluoro globes - 2 x Bunker lights for external purposes - Sweep fan with a light for the alfresco - Fluoro for the garage - 3 pendant lights for the kitchen. Does this sound reasonable or can I do some/all of these cheaper after handover? We were only going to put about 15 downlights in due to the costs quoted in here, but since they are (presumably) CFL downlights, is it worth considering? He also took $20 off per room as he had to run the wiring to one point anyway. We obviously were pretty happy with this! Just completed build with Hallmark Homes Re: What have you paid for downlights to be fitted? 28May 29, 2010 11:09 am Hmmnn...builder's mark-ups A box of 10 electronic dimmable downlights with transformers..$100 from bunnings Tip: if you are a bit handy then you can save a bit of labour by cutting the holes in the gyprock yourself (hole saw set from bunnings $16 and use 54mm bit...you have to be certain where you want the lights positioned and make sure they are 30cm distance from the timber battens/joists (I had a sparky just slap them in where-ever was easiest for him i.e; right next to the ceiling joists.
