Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Oct 19, 2008 6:03 pm I want outside lights for our patio that look as if they're embedded in the tile/ground, but aren't really. We don't want to get into putting lights in the tiles and doing all the electricals that go with it, but we do want realistic looking in-tile lights...if that's even possible? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Lights that look embedded in the ground but aren't? 2Oct 20, 2008 9:05 am if you put a false floor outside with those new click-on wooden tile sections I've seen at bunnings you could run some small LED spots in between. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Lights that look embedded in the ground but aren't? 3Oct 20, 2008 12:39 pm Actually, that could look good. I’ve seen those…they wouldn’t suit our tiles, but we could put say, 4 in the corners and put a pot plant on each, and then get a light put into it…that’d be nice I guess… How the hell did I become a senior member!? That way you can do it yourself nicer ones http://www.onlinelighting.com.au/index. ... 2bf40e9e78 or look through all these http://www.onlinelighting.com.au/index. ... 2bf40e9e78 Re: Lights that look embedded in the ground but aren't? 6Oct 21, 2008 4:36 pm Hmm...so...with those lights you stick in the pot plants (which I do find appealing, the look of slightly floodlit pot plants), and the transformer thing...do you need to run any cables to a power point? Cause if so, they're not suitable. We'd have to be running cables through our door all the time. It'd look hideous! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Lights that look embedded in the ground but aren't? 7Oct 21, 2008 6:46 pm yeh you would. Tranny plugsin and you hook up 2 wires to the tranny.
OK options i can think of are: get a sparky in to wire lights ( could be a lot of work, running cable, switch) Get sparky to put gpo in ( also could be a lot of work, if you want gpo in between doors like your other post) Solar lights ( not always pretty, don't last long, not bright) sorry i am a bit fuzzy headed today so i can't think of anymore. Okay sorry silly me, my wife has solves the mystery for me. It’s because the labels on the ports are all wrongly positioned by the builder hence it confuses me. 2 1577 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise.
