Browse Forums Old Home Restoration / Renovation 1 Jan 31, 2019 6:37 pm I have read so many comments on here trying to validate my choices, I figured I may as well post my own as every one seems so helpful. I have a 2 story rendered house (built in the 90s) it has a deck that runs the length of the facade on the bottom level is a double garage, front door and large window, on the top level there are 2 bedroom windows and a large 3 pain slider. It's quite flat looking with no architectural features (I will post a pic when I have one). The Windows are aluminium monument (or will be, we have replaced the back of the house already and aren't changing them again) our front deck will be black butt with a spotted gum hand rail and either glass or monument balustrades, we will also have a timber front door and are adding a vertical timber screen to the middle of the bottom level near the front door in black butt or similar light timber.the roof will be monument. We recently painted the front of the house gutter, fascia and trims Dulux Domino, render dulux calf skin and garage /front door dulux grey pebble and I hate it! I can't see timber or monument Windows / roof going with it my husband and I both agree it's meh, it kinda looks like raw concrete and too grey/dull, we want something a little more warm / coastal feeling and we need a lot more contrast To the monument roof. We have already realised we need to change all the domino to monument (as its throwing blue) and that w need to paint the fascia lighter to lift the house a.little (with monument roof, gutters, Windows and trims). I am stuck on the new render and garage door/fascia colour. We thought Dulux Biege Royal render and surf mist garage /fascia Was it, but the Biege Royal looks too cream in full sun, so I currently am looking at 2 options: 1. Dulux ghosting render with ghosting 1/4 garage and fascia 2. Dulux ghosting render with colorbond Dune garage and fascia I want the colours to compliment the timber and contrast to the monument, I want it too feel warm without being too grey or cream, I'm hoping I'm on the right track but open to suggestions! Than you 🙂 Re: Exterior colour help 3Jan 31, 2019 9:13 pm McLala I have read so many comments on here trying to validate my choices, I figured I may as well post my own as every one seems so helpful.
