Given lintel bearings need to be 150mm minimum and to maximise my window sizes I was looking at fixing 2x long lintels (4m long including 150mm bearing each side) that would be continuous spans (with a short brick pier in the middle (1 course wide) - rather than fixing 4x lintels. Does anyone see an issue with that?.. a bit like floor joists running over a number of bearers, rather than being single span.
