Putting customers under time pressure to agree. Customers will thank them for 'saving' their money! Ensure you check the contract or quote carefully and you are comfortable with their process and agree the steps and 'proof' they will offer in this situation. Photos of fragmented asbestos pieces are easily staged as are waste disposal weighbridge receipts etc. An in person inspection - ideally by someone that knows what they are looking for is best. Beware, a demolition company that does this may, at the same time, be responsive, courteous, informative, and will promote their 'partnerships with builders', professionalism, superior ethics, integrity, helpfulness, and 'honesty' etc etc on websites and via various (some questionable) review platforms. Alternativey, if you see the 'photo proof' clause in the demo quote you could just factor in a possible extra $10k or so for your clearance certificate! I have been slapped by my Demolition $7,500 for asbestos found under house and slab which I cannot verify the truth. Re: Demolishing advice 6Jul 14, 2022 9:04 pm Kippers01 How was your hidden asbestos removed? In bulk soil or rubble? By Emu Picking? Chicken Bobbing? What quantity? How many bags? Other packaging? What "proof" was provided? well, we kinda very close to deadline for handover to our builder due contract tender expiry, otherwise $40k price increase. So we dont have much time to investigate in detail. How is removed ? Not sure. I think combination in soil and rubble. (Of course not in proper way with protection gear, etc) By machine, because they said it was many of them under the house. Quantity, bags, packaging, proof : not sure, well dont really care as long as the job done. If they tried to scam us, let it be, rather risk slap by $40k price increase, better get the job done asap Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
