With our renovation looming, I'm feeling really anxious about submitting our plans. I have been scouring this forum and reading and listening to podcasts on building with the right orientation. All I can think about now is twisting our house from NW facing to true N. It is actually stressing me out. I can't believe the builder of this home did not think to do this when he/she could have (30 years ago π). Grrrr. Anyway, we need to renovate the best we can with the existing foot print and not reposition too many rooms etc as budget is restricted. Can anyone offer any comfort or advice to make the most of our situation. What can we do to improve the light and make the most of the winter sun. We are in Perth, hot summers very breezy and mild winters. If I ever bought a house again to renovate, my first thought will be orientation!!
