Browse Forums Bugs & Suggestions 1 Apr 08, 2008 4:28 pm Okies......I'm a mac user with single button mouse Usually to open up a link in a new tab, I hold down the apple key and click. However doing that on this site causes the new link to load in the current page your clicking aswell as the new tabbed page. ie the link loads twice if you get what I mean. I can go around this method by control clicking to bring up the sub menu and selecting "open link in new tab", but that's a hassle and slower than apple clicking. Any chance the homeone webmaster can fix the prob? Ok Dan, I don't need to hold down the apple key when opening a link. Have you tried clicking on the link without the apple key? Paula Re: Open Link in New Tab (MAC) - [Resolved] 6Apr 08, 2008 8:19 pm Dan are you there??
I tried to open a link your way, it opened it as a new tab in the same window...does that make sense? Not using the apple key opens it the same way as my PC. Paula Re: Open Link in New Tab (MAC) - [Resolved] 7Apr 08, 2008 8:33 pm d@n Casa2 I thought that any links in this forum always open up in a new window. Every link a new window? That wouldn't be much fun. Dan, Assuming you're using Safari, it sounds like you don't have tabs enabled. Go to the Safari menu, select Preferences... then Tabs and click Enable Tabbed browsing. I'm not a fan of tabs. Take up more of your precious screen real-estate. If you click on forum links they automatically open in new windows. Then use Apple ~ (just above the tab key) to flick between windows. Now that's fun Cheers, Casa Demolition August 2009, Construction Started September 2009, Completed December 2010 Re: Open Link in New Tab (MAC) - [Resolved] 9Apr 08, 2008 10:53 pm Casa2 Assuming you're using Safari, it sounds like you don't have tabs enabled. It's only this site they don't work and only appears to happen when I click on title threads in the forums. Re: Open Link in New Tab (MAC) - [Resolved] 11Apr 09, 2008 10:51 am Let me clarify, I experience the same issue when using Safari. However it is only links back to Homeone pages that cause the issue. Links to external sites behave as expected.
Typically, say I'm browsing a forum and I want to open multiple threads contained in that forum in a separate tab, if you use Apple + click, the link will open in a new tab (as expected) but it also opens up in the current tab as well. Now to open up another thread, I would need to go back to the forum page in the original tab. Like d@n, I've been using the workaround of Ctrl + clicking. Re: Open Link in New Tab (MAC) - [Resolved] 14May 01, 2012 2:13 pm Apologies. The opening of content in two windows is resolved, however the allowance of content to open using CMD + Click is still something we're looking into it. It's to do with a conflict of the javascript that handles the blue mouseover colour, so we're looking at alternative code for this. Cupcake.girl This really depends on your local council.
