Making the search feature more prominent...

Guys,

There seems to be a lot of new people asking the same questions (some only asked a few weeks prior) on a regular basis.

The search function is a little hit and miss and the search function in the nav bar is just about useless for us forumers.

Perhaps the button could be made a little more user friendly and be made bigger and inserted into the posting/composing area also??

I personally find it hard to start repeating myself on questions that are already answered in here.

Perhaps all new people should read through the threads and see if there is not already an answer to their question.

I don’t find it hard to use the search button.
Just type in what you are after.

I use the google site seach feature, which gives much better results.

If you type something like below into google see what you get.

The key bit is the site:forum.homeone.com.au which restricts the search to this forum.

Sure - just link the google search engine in here.
They love it.
Links on their web site tell you how to do it.

This is sort of search related.

I've been using the i Google web site for a few weeks - Since the rugby world cup started actualy. Damn POMS fixed that didn;t they :twisted:

Anyway,

at igoogle - you can customise the page to show some favorite sites that google have feeds from.

Makes for a rather neat little "home page"
That's only if homeone is not your homepage :wink:
