So here is a little how to for beginners: Find the picture you want to show on the internet. For this example i am going to use the picture from the bottom of my own website: http://www.avdreams.com.au ----- I start a new thread or make a new post as usual. I type what I want to say in that box, and in the bar at the top of the box for typing your message there is a button in a rectangle that says "Img" Once you click this you have started the process to insert a picture from somewhere else on the internet. The next step is to ad the address that the picture is located at on the Internet. This is the trickiest part. There are 2 ways to ad this part in. Internet Explorer users 1/ You can simply type the address that is presented in the top bar of the website address at the top of your screen. (If this is information is not available at the top of the screen it can be obtained by right clicking the image and selecting the properties tab and copying the address: (URL) In this case you would need to use the right click method Mozilla and other users 2/ Right click on the photo and select "Copy image location" and right click and paste after the [img] that was inserted before Once finished this step click the "Img" button again to complete the insertion sequence. This will add [/img] to the end of your image name. Your line should look like this: note: The "{" have replaced the "[" for the purpose of the example. {img}http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rnhcork/Images/Matts%20Panoramic%203b.jpg{/img} If you have done this right you should end up with this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Matt Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 2May 22, 2007 1:44 pm How to pinch a photo from a website!!! hahahahahah ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 4May 22, 2007 3:49 pm ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I should have know better!!!!! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 5May 22, 2007 3:59 pm Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 6May 22, 2007 4:37 pm Michelle,
Make sure that when you post a reply that under Options (directly below the"Message body" pane) that you have: 1) BBCode is ON 2) You haven't got "Disable BBCode in this post" ticked Cheers, Casa Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 7May 22, 2007 4:56 pm Thanks Casa,

that shouldn't apply here! Michelle, you have pasted the whole website rather than just a picture. Try slecting a pic on the site and go again! Matt Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 9May 22, 2007 5:29 pm I did try one of your photos Matt…. But when I clicked on it, it didn’t have a link or name to it.
I will try again tomorrow. See whose website I can raid!! I’m just about to go home….no computer still. EVERYONE LESSON……BACKUP!!!! OFTEN ON YOUR COMPUTER!!! Not that I have anything to worry about here, but it could have been disastrous! We have had some VERY upset clients from loosing ALL their data…and guess what….they didn’t do backups. Ohhhhh I always do a runner when one comes in, I can’t bare to see their face when they get told all their stuff is lost….for good!!! See you tomorrow, with some stolen ….borrowed photos!!!! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 10May 22, 2007 10:25 pm Michelle,
I gave you a bum steer. I didn't notice that you were referencing a web site rather than a picture. You know that you are referencing a picture when it ends in .jpg (or jpeg, tif, gif and several other extensions). For instance, I've stolen (or borrowed) from your website the following internet address (formally known as a URL) to a picture on your website: http://www.denovoconcepts.com/images/la ... rewall.jpg Now if enclose the internet address with the magical [img]and[/img] I get the picture: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You’re basically telling the forum software, with the [img]and[/img], that the information between the “tags” is an address to a picture on the web and rather than print out the internet address, please display it. To get the internet address of the picture, right click it and select Properties (for Windows) or hold down the control key while clicking and select Copy Image Address (for Macintosh). It's important to note that you are not "stealing" the picture. Instead you are providing a link to the original which resides on the source website. If someone moves the original picture or deletes it then it will also disappear from your post. Hope this helps. Cheers, Casa Re: How to post a photo from an existing website. 11Apr 23, 2008 12:20 pm Ok I need to learn this!!
