Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 16, 2008 3:27 pm Looking at doing my lounge room, kitchen and hallway with Quickstep and wondered how those who have installed it are finding it now for wear and tear,
My main reservation is whether or not it is as scratch resistant and hard wearing as they say as my partner has 2 indoor cats and I don't want them to ruin it nor do I want to have to rip it up after a few years if carpet is going to be a harder wearing solution. I've also laid some other brands of laminate flooring and when walking on them you "tap dance" and any kind of moisture and the boards warp quite easily so am hoping quickstep is more durable? Anyone that has this brand laminate care to comment? Are there any other similar products from a different brand available? Thanks Re: Quickstep or other durable laminate flooring 2Sep 16, 2008 5:47 pm We have it and are really happy with it ! We have two boys, 5 & 6 and a Golden Retriever and we haven't got any scratches ! We also have it in the kitchen, I keep a hand towel in the kitchen and wipe up any spills.
We have been in our home for 10 months and no problems so far ! Re: Quickstep or other durable laminate flooring 3Sep 17, 2008 11:51 am Thanks for the quick reply that info was appreciated
Does anyone else have any experiences with quickstep or any of what seem to be similar alternatives from Formica, Probilt, Cotto or Tarkett? Re: Quickstep or other durable laminate flooring 4Sep 21, 2008 11:04 pm Hi there, we had quickstep in our previous home. We laid it throughout the house except bathrooms, laundry and kitchen. I can say that the day we moved out 6 years later it Still looked wonderful. I had 2 kids during that time who were not (and still aren't!!) careful in regards to spilling stuff dragging toys across it etc.
I think that something that may have contributed to it still looking so good may have been the colour we chose, it was a very light colour kinda like birch, so maybe scratches didn't show up so much iykwim.
