They make strange clicking / cracking noises in some areas. Contractor is saying it is due to excessive humidity after installation which has caused them to shift, and that floating floors are always a bit noisy. Is this true? Or can I legitimately expect the floors not to make noise? Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Alex, that was interesting reading! I’ve watched some videos of similar noises and mine are not as bad, and so I’m not sure it’s going to qualify as a defect if I pursue it further. It was an off the plan purchase and the flooring contractor is insisting the floors have just moved due to humidity (no mention of faulty installation as one would expect) and not offering to replace or redo them.
