Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 15, 2008 5:34 pm We went into Godfreys yesterday with the intention of buying a new cheap vacuum cleaner ($145) that came with a free steam mop, but we ended up going to Harvey Norman and buying a Dyson power head vacuum cleaner and better steam mop with 4 year warranty for $600. lol
I'm hoping everyone is going to reassure me that with our lovely new wool carpet, we need a vacuum cleaner with a power head to clean it properly. I'm very much hoping nobody is going to say I don't need anything of the sort and it's all just hype and we've wasted $500. lol Also, am I right in saying that the steam mop is good for my newly-restored grout between my tiles in the kitchen & bathroom, because grout discolouration and mould is caused mainly be water being left for a long time to dry on tiles & grout, and so with a steam clean, the water is extracted/evaporated ASAP? And that's good, isn't it? Reassure meeeee! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: New power head vacuum cleaner! 2Sep 15, 2008 5:37 pm It’s probably the best vacuum cleaner you can buy!
Good choice! Most of that cheap crap they sell is just rubbish. Re: New power head vacuum cleaner! 6Sep 15, 2008 7:09 pm YESSSSS!! *pumping air* That is such a relief!
And yes, the Godfreys guy was VERY pushy. He was also quite strange. He said something about how the vacuum cleaner he was about to show us was so amazing or something, and then my partner tried to be a bit funny and asked if he came round with the cleaner to actually do the vacuuming for us, and he said yes, he'd meet us out the front wearing a tutu...we were like...what!? lol Then as we left he said he didn't know what he was talking about and he was "sick" because he'd been working there for 5 years. Okaaayyy...lol How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: New power head vacuum cleaner! 7Sep 15, 2008 7:13 pm Oh, and we feel we got a good deal from Harvey Norman as well.
The RRP for the vacuum is apparently $649, and the RRP for the mop is $129, and the normal warranty is 2 years for each, and to extend that to an extra 2 years is normally $80. So that's $858. We paid $590 for all of it. WOO! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! I'll look into different shower heads and ask the plumber about some engineering and see what he says. Thanks 2 9566 If you can calculate the reasonable charged head from let's say 100mm below the gutter to the top of where the vertical riser's horizontal discharge pipe will be, that… 11 17532 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
