Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jan 09, 2019 7:52 am Hi, I’m looking at flooring for our new home and had been considering vinyl planks as the preferred option for hallways, living areas and kitchen/dining. We are currently in a rental property while we build, and the laminate flooring in that house shows water splashes, footprints and also paw prints from the dog. I clean it with vinegar/water at least once a day, but don’t want to have to constantly do that in our new house. Do vinyl planks have been the same problem of showing every footprint as laminate floors appear to do? Am I better getting a lighter colour with texture, rather than a smooth plank? Any advice would be welcome. 😀 Re: Flooring that does not show footprints 2Jan 09, 2019 10:08 am Hi, my 2 month old home has Karndean Luxury Vinyl Planks for all rooms. Its a great product however prints ARE visible. I have Mountain Spotted Gum which is a dark shade. I now think that I should have opted for a lighter shade. See my other posts for flooring photos. Thx IamSAM, I have seen (and admired) your photos and wondered if they might be harder to upkeep because of the colour. I’ve also looked at hybrid flooring and am now thinking that may be the way to go. 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer.
