Can anyone help me out with some pics/links of houses that have outdoor tiles that match the living area tiles?
I'm trying to make up my mind about what to do and can't find any decent photos of how this might look.

Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 2Sep 13, 2008 8:14 pm So you want to use similar but not the same tile indoor and out?? Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 3Sep 13, 2008 9:41 pm I'm trying to decide whether to go for outdoor tiling that matches the indoor tiling, or whether to not tile outside at all and go for pavers or decking.
I know that I've been to a display home where the same (or almost the same!) tiles were both inside and outside, but I don't seem to have taken a picture. I was hoping someone else might have done this and would have a pic. I'm not sure if it would suit the style of our house or not... Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 4Sep 13, 2008 10:37 pm I was going to say why not just use the same tile in and out. It may look a bit monotonous though Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 5Sep 16, 2008 7:31 pm No one has done this and has a pic? I'm surprised! It may look a bit monotonous though I was told inside tiles shouldnt be used outside because they dont have the surface to support walking on them if they are wet, but most tiles have an outdoor version for this very reason. I'd also be keen to see a photo, my wife picked out a tile that had a paired outdoor tile so we could do this but ever since I have been wondering that it might look like. We have bifolds out to the alfresco area and have gone the standard ceiling to match internal so the effect we were looking for was to simple 'extend' the house outside when the doors are open... maybe it'll work, maybe not. Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 8Sep 19, 2008 10:32 am Our plan is to do this, to feel like the areas are more connected.... MikkyG I'm not 100% sure about the tiles.... we used a tile at mum's old house that was suitable for indoor or outdoor... I don't think you can use just any tile outdoors, but there are some that are suitable for both areas.
I like the idea of an outdoor version of the indoor tile..... our indoor one we ended up going with doesn't have an outdoor version.... but we've found one that is very similer. Terrence Malick Re: Pics needed of matching outdoor/indoor tiles 9Oct 03, 2008 6:43 pm A friend and her partner used to have a light-coloured terracotta tile in their open-plan living and dining area, and they used the same tile in the outside alfresco area that led off this area. From memory, the only thing separating these two areas were the sliding glass doors. When the doors were open, it felt as though it was one big area - with the sliding door tracks in the middle. I don't have any photos of it, but it looked quite effective. thanks. the above one is white Mat tiles and have gripness so going for this Mat tiles for both indoor and outdoor.
