Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 30, 2012 5:59 pm Hi fellow builder/renovators Our first home build is nearing completion and we have been struggling to make a decision on our flooring. Actually if money was not an issue I would have hard wood flooring but as we do need to stick to a budget we are leaning towards bamboo flooring.....in particular Embelton Bamboo Flooring (we can get it for $49m2) We have been to a show room and viewed the samples but it is really hard to tell what it will look like in a large space from the very small sample pieces. Some showrooms have had larger sections of actual laid flooring but usually it's only one or two of the colours available in the range Hope this works, I'm not really sure how to add a photo. Kitchen/Living area where bamboo flooring will go http://s1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh5 ... C_0010.jpg We like Coffee and Daintree because we think this will match nicely with the colour scheme in our kitchen/living area but do not want to rule out Natural or Nullarbor for a lighter look but we are worried it will not look right in our house! If you have any of these colours I would love to see a photo....pretty please Re: Embelton Bamboo Flooring 2May 21, 2012 11:17 pm Hi Seachange, not quite sure what Daintree and Nullarbor colours are but here are a few photos of Coffee, Natural and Honey. I assume you are going with compressed bamboo flooring? Coffee - darkest colour Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Natural Honey Personally, I feel that lighter colours work better in a kitchen area. But that's not to say that a darker colour won't also! Let me know if you have any questions and hope all goes well with your new flooring. Re: Embelton Bamboo Flooring 3Jul 07, 2012 11:03 am Hi All, So we made a decision on our flooring and went with Embelton Daintree. We really loved the colour variation that you got with the Daintree and Nullarbor range in comparison to the uniform colour of the other bamboo flooring. Although we loved both the dark and light flooring we went with Daintree because we felt it matched with the colour scheme of our house much better. Hope this helps anyone else trying to choose a bamboo floor colour. Is that from Embleton also? BTW....The Daintree looks great Seachange!! Thanks, Nick Re: Embelton Bamboo Flooring 5Jul 23, 2012 7:01 pm Hi SeaChange - just wondering where abouts your located and where you can get the Embelton Bamboo from for $49? We're in Victoria and also looking at the Embelton range. We're also looking at installing it ourselves - has anyone had any experience with this or know if it's worth doing it yourself for the bit of money you can save? You have made the right colour choice! Did not really like bamboo, but this looks nice....I might re-consider! Re: Embelton Bamboo Flooring 8Jul 26, 2012 10:05 am Thanks for the compliments guys....we are really happy with it zora0071 we really wanted hard wood flooring but our budget would not allow for it....definitely have a look at bamboo flooring, there are so many colour variations available now most people would be able to find something they are happy with. The $49 per square meter does not include installation, underlay and the trim we had to buy to finish off the gaps along the skirting boards.....my husband is pretty handy and had a go himself. I think he did a great job, although it killed his knees It was a little tricky installing it around the doors but with a saving of about $3K we just had to do it ourselves! kjw7 we got the flooring from F O W L E S in Clayton.....was and 1.5 hour drive for us but for the amount we needed it saved us $900......I just checked their website and they still have it at that price (actually if you are after any sort of flooring we found they had great prices). http://www.f o w l e s.com.au/ (sorry I had to put a space in between the letters....for some reason this website doesn't let me type the name???) Re: Embelton Bamboo Flooring 9May 19, 2015 11:53 pm Heya SeaChange. Hows has the floor held up a few years later? We are looking at the Embleton Pilbara. Embelton Aqua Tuf in New England BlackButt 10Nov 26, 2018 6:03 pm Hi, Thinking of putting Embelton Aqua Tuf in New England BlackButt, in my home. 1/ Is it better on top of tiles or remove ceramic tiles? 2/ do you need under layer? 3/Once its place down, will it shift at all...& crack while your walking on it? Thanks Angela 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6148 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15819 Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
