Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 23, 2018 1:54 pm I have a slate kitchen that was layed 30 years ago. The house had extensive water damage and now some of the slate has cracked and lifted and the cement grout is cracked too. I DON'T want to lift the slate up because I know if I do that, I'll damage the wooden floorboards underneath and I don't want to have to replace that as well. Is there anything I can apply on top of the slate to make it level, and seal the cracks, before laying down floating floorboards or laminate??? Thanks, Alicia. I would probably render it and then paint it as per your other advice, or gyrpock over the top. 1 3323 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6115 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 2993 |
