Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Hybrid Flooring vs Luxury Vinyl Plank 2Jul 23, 2018 7:45 am We are seriously looking at Hybrid - benefits for us where the ability to go over a heated slab, longer lengths (eg Godfrey Hirst Napier are 1.8m) and the acoustic backing. Downside is they require an expansion gap so don’t give a neat a finish as vinyl. Re: Hybrid Flooring vs Luxury Vinyl Plank 3Nov 27, 2018 3:09 pm I looked at the Karndean vinly planks today and they look great. Then went to another store and they tried to steer me away from vinyl and toward hybrid. He stated he wouldn't touch vinyl as it ends up with gaps due to expansion and contraction and then showed me showroom vinyl which had about 2mm gaps at ends of planks as he suggested. Now I'm confused...... Re: Hybrid Flooring vs Luxury Vinyl Plank 4Jan 22, 2019 8:37 am I found this post and like some of you here, I am confused about whether to put down hybrid flooring or vinyl planks. Those of you who weren't sure, what did you end up doing and how are you finding them? Re: Hybrid Flooring vs Luxury Vinyl Plank 6Mar 21, 2019 8:21 pm Interested to see NellieB and Bebbsy that you are having the same decision making problem as me. Ive fallen for the Heartridge Smoked Oak finish, but this product is available in both Hybrid and LVP. I would love some feedback on these products, which is more durable and is the hybrid noisy? Re: Hybrid Flooring vs Luxury Vinyl Plank 8Mar 28, 2019 6:04 am Good morning all, I sell both flooring. All I can say is, every floor has a purpose which comes back to your sub floor. If you are still confused let me know and I'll pop in tonight to help you with your questions. With shrinkage... this can happen to all other plank vinyl's as well. Our summer this year has been horrendous, not too many floors other than carpet and concrete didn't suffer with the extreme heat. Scratching....again all vinyls can scratch if you drag the wrong thing across or get stones in your shoes and walk on the surface. Premature wearing??? So this is the first I have heard that and very much doubt it. I have been selling Karndean for years, whilst there do seems to be issues occasionally this is so with all other flooring's as well. Lets not forget an install issue as well with the layers. There are so many factors, to a flooring and who says what. Its so hard, there are so many products out there for the consumer today! Asking for some feed back here on the forum is your best way to the answers you need. I hope I have helped you. Can I ask how the product has held up since you've had it laid? There's a lot of negative reviews which has me worried and preventing me from pulling the trigger. Hi Kanes Wondering if you did end up pulling the trigger on Korlok? We're still researching and there's a lot of negative reviews about Karndean but its not clear if it relates to Korlok or some of their older vinyl planks. It would be super helpful to hear about your experience firsthand if you did end up laying them or what your alternative choice was in the end.
