My partner suffers from bad hay fever, so in all likelihood any children we have will suffer too! In any case, it is timely for us building a new house as they recommend blinds over curtains and floorboards over carpet to reduce reactions. We are building a two storey house and were planning for tiles throughout the bottom floor, which will be fine. But we were planning on carpet for the stairs and top floor (including all bedrooms), so now we might need to re-think that. What do you think of floorboards in the bedrooms??? Or are there particular carpets that are more suitable or more resistant to dust mites? TMI, but we had a happy chucker so the floorboards made cleanup so much easier.
