Polished concrete floor ground too much?

Hi
Does anyone know a solution for concrete that has been overground.
We are currently building a new house and chose polished concrete floors. We agreed a very light polish with our concrete polisher (picture 1) but somehow the message wasn't passed on to the guys he sent to do the job hence we have ended up with a partial grind but it is way too busy for the look we are after (picture 2)
Apart from digging up the concrete slab, does anyone know anything that can rectify this look. Is there a light paint wash or something that can cover up the busyness of the stone. We can't tile over it as the non concrete areas have already been recessed into the slab
Many thanks in advance

Well, you could. Just get them to keep grinding another 12mm and then you can lay a 10mm tile.
