are they the same thickness as railway sleepers? yes they are and are as hard nails they don't scratch easily. which photo is more representative of the true colour? the last photo. and baby is doing fine. Rteve Did you get the sleepers machine dressed before sanding? Its not that exspensive, the floor could be sanded like any floor after that. I've not yet tackled them - other than spending a day digging them up and rescueing them from the garden edging function they were doing and stored them for later use at present. But i know I've spoken to machinist before and they have asked for a guarantee that I will pay for their blades if they strike a spike etc. So i was going to rough sand them first to see what was in them first. Steve We dress recycled stuff all the time, many use a metal detector to check for nasties. But your right, you will be up for a re-sharpen charge if you hit a nail etc. No. It's not original.
