We used Laminateland in Melbourne to do the install and were very pleased with him, he was very knowledgeable. If I could have afforded it I would have gone for a slim piece of wood (not engineered) on a ply mount I think. The bamboos a nice colour but if you don't like dots you should think of another alternative. Flew 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer.
