This is the one Carpet Court was selling for a while, not sure if they still do. I haven’t looked at the product for a while. http://www.bamboo-oz.com.au/flooring/index.html You won’t be sorry; it’s just the best flooring!!! If in doubt go to the flooring suppliers and look at your options. There are a lot of imported Bamboo flooring products that have some major issues you should be aware of. Re: Bamboo Flooring? 6Nov 23, 2006 2:07 pm suzy do you work for Bamboo Australia? Good for you for still keeping up product knowledge! I don’t think I’ll be looking at it for a while. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bamboo Flooring? 10Mar 17, 2007 9:54 pm I have visited several flooring places and figured out that surface hardness of bamboo can vary. One of the DIY retailer had the worst- could mark it easily with fingernails! Then went to a flooring specialist where timber floating floors also had the same sitn... I also learnt that nowadays the trend is not to do the good ol floorboards and polish them..wastage of too many trees ... in this place I decided to go for laminates and got them to write up a quote... next day came accross this small showroom where the bamboo couldnt be dented with fingernails... but their timber samples did..I have now decided to go for the entire upstairs with bamboo (less chances of visitors coming upstairs with stilettos!)
The product is from www.bambooandtimber.com.au Do let me know if you come across any other good bamboo suppliers as I would like to compare. VP Re: Bamboo Flooring? 12Mar 29, 2007 10:29 pm I do not have the exact figure but it will be roughly 80per sqm installed. I have a quote of 9k for whole of upstairs which was about 12 K for top of the range laminates and even more for floating floor timber.
Hope this helps. VP Re: Bamboo Flooring? 13Apr 06, 2007 2:15 am Which state do you live in? I'm building in Perth and we've chosen bamboo flooring. We're using a company called Bamboozle. I love their flooring..it's lovely.
www.bamboozle.com.au if you'd like to check it out. No, I don't work for them..they are the company we've chosen to use and hoping to find someone else that has used them and are happy with their flooring. We are aiming to put down the flooring in the next couple of months. Re: Bamboo Flooring? 14Apr 15, 2007 11:31 pm If you like the look of bamboo flooring, you'll probably be very happy with it. Do your homework to see what companies offer varieties and choose which one seems the best. Choose you installation contractors carefully too!
The beauty of bamboo is it grows quickly and so is a readily renewable resource (which has to be better than chopping down old trees). I'd predict that this kind of flooring will gradually overtake plank timber as environmental issues become more pertinent. Quality bamboo floors are very hard (harder than most hardwood) and very durable. Many have a glossy finish and you should be sure that this is a finish you desire. Keep in mind that a glossy surface will show any imperfections or undulations in the floor as light falls on it. Cheers! Ash. Re: Bamboo Flooring? 15May 28, 2007 10:24 am I'm also very interested in bamboo timber flooring but as of yet haven't seen the product first hand. If anyone from Melb can let me know where I could see a display of the Bamboo floor it would be greatly appreciated. I have heard there is a good display at the Home maker centre in Oakleigh which I haven't seen yet but I would like to look at a few if there are others around my area.
Cheers, Mike. Re: Bamboo Flooring? 16May 28, 2007 1:03 pm Most flooring suppliers sell Bamboo now, Carpet Court, Carpet Choice all of them.
You should be able to see it anywhere that sells flooring. Good luck, I love it, not only is a hard wearing floor, it looks great! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bamboo Flooring? 17May 28, 2007 2:46 pm Thanks Michelle.
You seem to be the expert (well on this forum at least) about Bamboo flooring. I think you posted in another thread that you had bamboo flooring in your house. Was it the verticle / horizontal / strand woven type. I've been trying to do as much research on the net as I can & it seems that the strand woven is far denser (harder to dent / scratch) than the other 2. Do you know much about the different styles & what can you tell me about them?? Cheers, Mike. Re: Bamboo Flooring? 18May 30, 2007 10:32 pm Here's some info I found on bamboo flooring production:

I went there to look for timber flooring and found out that bamboo was cheaper and environmentally sound. His rates and quality is better than carpetcall and bunnings. Give them a go.
vp 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6191 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15904 Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
