Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 21, 2016 11:58 am Hi so I'm currently renovating what is to be my first home but likely not my forever home. And I'm struggling with the choice for of colour for my flooring. As a tradie I've got the work bit covered but I'm let down a bit on the design side and eye for detail. Really I just want a home that I can be proud of and happy to come to anyway. So I personally really like a grey colour scheme. But I am not sure if a grey flooring would be to much. I have already decided that I will be placing timber laminate through the whole house (bedrooms, living areas and kitchen. As I don't like how dirty carpet can get and will break this up with rugs. Obviously wet areas will be tile. I am considering selling the property in 1-2 years so I would also like the flooring to be sale friendly. I am currently looking at the quickstep classic range and more specifically the the oak colours or the blackbut. Would the grey flooring be to much? Is the blackbut a better contrast? I have picked out a colour scheme already attached in the link below Thanks in advance https://www.pinterest.com/pin/156148312058796681/ http://www.floorboardsonline.com.au/lam ... assic.html Re: Single Male: Needs design help! 3Feb 21, 2016 2:06 pm I also love grey floors BUT for mass appeal when you come to sell, stick with a more traditional timber look - I like the oaks but blackbutt is good too. Also much easier to coordinate furniture / styling with and will warm your overall colour scheme. Good luck!
