We like two porcelain tiles (Belga Grey 450 x 450) is about 7mm thick, while the other (Bellingen white ash 600 x 600) is around 9mm. For this reason, just pick the tile you like and ensure it is being laid by an experienced qualified tiler and not an apprentice. Thickness of tile shouldn't need to come into the equation.
