Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Oct 07, 2015 11:06 pm So, my house is finished and I am still yet to decide on vinyl floors. First off colours. So far these are my favourite 3, but I've just picked up white oak sample from karndean also The http://www.karndean.com/en-au/floors/products/vgw80t-white-washed-oak Yet to compare it in the new house, but it is pretty white. I would like to hear other's opinions. I am after a 'light and airy' appearance house but don't want it to look like a hospital. The next option is the thicker 5mm+ planks over the 2mm planks. I have had different advice at two flooring stores. One saying the thinner glue down is superior and the other saying the 5mm+ planks are (and he did still suggest to glue them but its a tacky glue that still allows easy replacement). In my opinion I like the idea of the thicker planks because. 1. Softer on foot 2. Better sound absorption 3. Can be installed without screeding the floor 4. I feel like after watching a few install videos I could easily install these myself Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Help me decide on my vinyl floor 2Oct 16, 2015 4:40 am Sorry I can't help re the different types!
