Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 06, 2008 11:59 am Hi Mek,
I have selected a floor tile I think I'll use (selection on Tuesday) and it is a very similar colour to yours. Reallly beautiful charcoal. Beautiful to us anyway! How are you finding yours regarding cleaning? I have three indoor dogs and whatever tiles I have I'll have to give quick vacuum once a day. But do yours show up everything badly? Don't want to vacuum 5 times a day!! Thanks, Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Question for Mek 3Jul 07, 2008 11:33 am Mek,
They are sort of in between the two! Slightly darker then your tile, but not as dark as tour carpet. : They are called charcoal. What about cleaning? Do they show up lots of dust, etc? Terrence Malick Re: Question for Mek 4Jul 07, 2008 11:42 am OK Jo, just wanted to make sure that your tiles are not as dark as my carpet - that colour tiles I think would be showing a lot more dirt. My tiles are great to clean, no fuss at all, I vaccuum twice a week (crumbs from kids) and there's a bit of fluff as I have a charcoal mohair blanket on the couch that sheds a lot (and fluff ends up all over the house), washing also is no problem.
Do you like the idea of darker tile/lighter cupboards? I went the other way. Re: Question for Mek 5Jul 07, 2008 12:07 pm Our benchtop is black stone and the overheads are a wood. So the underbench cupboards are soft grey. I originally wanted white, but the soft grey is just that little bit forgiving as far as showing up dirt.
I wanted light colours so that the black stone becomes a real feature on the benchtops and sides (waterfall sides). Thanks Mek, the showing up dust, and in my case dog hair is my primary concern with the charcoal tile, so good to hear from someone who has similar. Terrence Malick You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9971 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters. If… 1 6157 1 13128 |
