The installers response was that the moisture level in the house has changed, not enough ventilation in the house or some other made up story to weasel their way out of it. YMMV as they say. Stewie Thank you Stewie, That is exactly what I've been told as well, and our builder who has his own timber floor installer said/ or recommend I should use 6mm Engineer instead, so that we can go as wide as we want, and perhaps the quality of 6mm one would be similar with the solid timber, because that is the same as the thickness of solid timber anyway in terms of the surface and how thick we can do sanding and polish later on. Cheers ctvu Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15907 If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8306 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6140 |
