Curious to know if anyone has used Market Timbers in Melbourne (Brooklyn) to supply and/or install floorboards.
They've got great prices, but we're a little worried about the finish and quality as we can't find any reviews on them.
Any experiences or stories shared would be great.
We've got a few prices together, but Market Timbers have been the cheapest so far, and offer a full thickness prefinished floor (not just the 6mm layer floating) for a good price too.
Connolly's is our favourite at this stage, they have by far the best quality products and services, but it's just a matter of if our budget can stretch that far.
Other flooring suggestions would be much appreciated - we're looking at Spotted Gum flooring (still open to engineered or solid).

Hi Snyde, did you ever hear back from anyone regarding this? Trying to find a good flooring retailer myself, and there are a lot of options out there, but very few reviews on the companies.

Never heard anything back. I ended up organising my floors through APN Timber in Pakenham.
They're a little pricy but do really good work. I got recommended to them by Big River timber.

We went with 189mm wide engineered spotted gum. It comes in a raw finish though and needs to be sanded and oiled unlike most engineered, so you don't get the lacquered pre-finish, and won't get the white glow marks if you scratch it. Though - the sanding and oiling also adds a bit to the expense.

Yeah that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. I hate the look of the pre-finished timber flooring. I didn't realise that you could sand and polish the engineered timber, but that is very handy to know. I think it would be worth the extra cash in the long run.
How much of you home are you using the timber floors on? We're looking at everywhere except the wet areas.

From all the research I done - Big River was the only engineered flooring that come in a raw finish that could be sanded and oiled. Could be different now though, it was a few months back now, more could be released now. Def worth the extra in my opinion!
We've got about 100sq metres of flooring (approx). Everywhere except bedrooms and wet areas.

$103per sq metre for 189mm wide planks (supply), we're laying them ourselves. Sanding and oiling will be another 3-4k though
