Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 24, 2015 3:37 pm Hi All, My wife and I are looking at having engineered timber flooring laid in our new house (NOR Perth), and would be interested in getting some thoughts / recommendation on local suppliers? At the moment, we are liking NSW Blackbutt and would prefer a floating installation, however I have just been told that if its installed as a floating floor it cannot be sanded? Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers Jason Re: Engineered Timber Flooring - Perth 3Apr 08, 2015 4:29 pm I am looking at TOC in Joondalup too - so far very impressed with Kevin and we are looking at Blackbutt or Spotted Gum. I believe TBrown - who is on the forum and built in Burns Beach - has Spotted Gum and recommends TOC highly. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 16057 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6220 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6301 |
