If you have a dog - well, you wouldn't allow it indoors anyway, would you? Dogs being outside creatures....and maybe you don't have one anyhow. There aren't too many things that can really scratch even an 8mm laminate flooring, especially if you, your family and your guests take your shoes off at the door. Unless there are stilettoes being used as ice-skates in the house, that is.... The formaldahyde issue is rather a moot point. The emissions from flooring are rather negligable, really (especially compared with hardwood) and, as others have said, you're not gonna lick the floor are you? (We hope not!)
